Headroom is a desktop menu bar app for macOS, Windows, and Linux that locally compresses the tool output, logs, and boilerplate sent to Claude Code and ChatGPT Codex before they reach the AI provider. By stripping noisy context without removing useful signal, it reduces input tokens by roughly 25–50%, effectively doubling usable quota on existing plans. All compression runs on-device, so code and prompts never leave the user's machine. Optional add-ons extend savings to terminal output, documents, codebase reads, and model reply length.
