About Future Tools
Curation in the age of infinite tools
Thousands of AI tools launch every month. Almost none of them matter. Future Tools exists to tell you which ones do.

The story
Future Tools started as Matt Wolfe's personal spreadsheet. In late 2022, AI tools were launching faster than anyone could track, and Matt — already deep in the space as a creator — was cataloguing everything he touched so he could tell people what was actually worth using.
The spreadsheet became a website. The website became one of the most-visited AI tool databases on the internet, with millions of visitors discovering thousands of hand-added tools. Alongside it, Matt's YouTube channel and this site's AI news feed became a daily habit for people who need to stay current without living on Twitter.
Then the world changed again. People stopped browsing directories — they started asking AI assistants which tools to use. So Future Tools is evolving with it: less “here is everything,” more “here is what matters.” Curated news. Honest reviews. A short list of tools we'd actually tell a friend to pay for. And a newsletter — read by more than 250,000 people twice a week — that does the filtering for you.
What we believe
- Taste beats completeness.A ranked list of 20 tools someone has actually used is worth more than a database of 40,000 they haven't.
- Curation is human.AI writes summaries here; it doesn't decide what's important. Every news item and every pick goes through a person.
- Reader first, always. Sponsors are labeled, affiliate links never change a ranking, and the newsletter stays free.
The easiest way to keep up
Two emails a week. The AI news that matters, the tools worth trying, zero noise.
