FirstCut is a browser-based narrative editor that helps video creators discover and shape stories within their footage before touching a timeline. It organizes footage into beats, clips, and word-level transcript edits, allowing editors to explore multiple narrative arcs from the same source material. An AI assistant accepts plain-language instructions and rebuilds the sequence into a new revision instantly playable in the browser. Once the narrative is finalized, FirstCut exports sequences in FCPXML, EDL, OTIO, and other formats compatible with Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Premiere Pro. The video file never uploads; only audio is sent for transcription.
